Devils win on the Road
The NJ Devils stopped a 3-0 deficit in the best of 7 series to make it 2-1 against the NY Rangers by winning in overtime. Thank god. Mad dog(John Madden) netted his 2nd goal of the playoffs on an unassisted goal at 6:01 of overtime for the Devils to win 4-3 making the series 2-1 Rangers.
Home ice has not been an advantage in the first round of the playoffs this year for a few of the series so far.
Zach Parise got his first goal of the playoffs after losing his front teeth to a cross check to the mouth last game. This is the playoffs baby. Whooooaaa.
Patrik Elias and Sergei Brylin also got their 1st goals of the playoffs in game 3 against the NY Rangers.
Amazing that it only close to 85 games into the season to see Sergei
Brylin playing some hockey with some grit and looking like he's
enjoying it.
Now on another note. Sean Avery!! What was that display and little chicken dance you were doing in the crease and right in front of Marty Broduer. Disgraceful display of sportsmanship. Even one of the Rangers team leaders try to get you to stop what you were doing. It would have been a great moment of hockey to see a Ranger shoot from the point and watch Avery get beamed on the back of the head.
To see what I'm talking about. Here's the video: You can see right from the start of the video Avery skate up and start dancing in front of Broduer.
Now there's nothing in the rule books that says that this is an illegal move or a penalty, but certainly was not a display of professional sportsmanlike conduct. The sweetest revenge would be on the ice with another win. If the Devils do send the Rangers home for an extended summer, I think this Avery dance and tactic would have been the turning point in the series.
Let's go Devil's!!
