John Madden(rookie) - NJ Devils

I was cruising around the internet and came upon some old NJ Devils Video and found these of a Rookie John Madden playing his first shift(January 6, 1999) against the NY Rangers and getting his first point(assist, January 18, 1999) on a Brian Rolston Goal against the San Jose Sharks.

John Madden(Maddog) has been a defensive center, for the NJ Devils and solid core player for this team since signing with the Devils as a free agent.

Here's a video clip of Maddog's first shift. You can see him wearing the #11 that he still wears to this day, along with his determination on the forecheck towards the end of the clip. I think it's so cool to hear some of the names of the other guys on the ice also.(Gretzky, McKay, Daneyko, etc)

This next clip is a short interview between Madden, Mike Emrick and Glenn "Chico" Resch, where they talk about his first NHL pt. Just look at how clean and young he looks without all his battle scars that he has earned over the past years.

This is some good stuff. Thanks to youtube and their member McKay4429061 for posting this.
